Content: Senior Branded Content Writer

The Details

Mashable is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Branded Content Writer to join the Mashable Brand X. Mashable’s Branded Content team creates multimedia and cross-platform content for brands that help our clients engage with Mashable readers onsite and across the social web. He or she will manage a small team of writers (currently an Associate Writer and a Content Coordinator.) Leadership, time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks with short-term and long-term deadlines while also mentoring younger writers are essential skills for this position. Mashable works with some of the top brands in the world to develop creative custom content campaigns, including: Ford, Samsung, Netflix, American Express, Intel and Hilton.

The Day-to-Day

  • Write and edit Branded Content articles
  • Develop streamlined process for working with Creative Strategists (i.e., article assignments and briefing document)
  • Manage workload between writing team and freelance writers as necessary
  • Uphold Mashable voice and style throughout Branded Content work - including that of freelance writers
  • Utilize Velocity -- Mashable’s proprietary tool -- to inform and support creative pitches and Branded Content work with insights
  • Write social copy specific to each social platform
  • Manage and mentor younger writers
  • Participate in brainstorms along with Creative Strategists to ideate creative content programs
  • Pitch concepts to clients and agencies as needed
  • Format and edit content in Mashable CMS
  • Work with Product Team to stay on top of updates within CMS and make sure BX work is optimized within the builder
  • Track metrics related to branded content and apply learnings to future work such as headline optimization, organic traffic, etc.

  • Based in NYC
  • 5-7 years professional experience
